Will hold the SUSD Board and Administration Accountable
The SUSD board has regrettably become synonymous with corruption. Scathing Grand Jury Reports, lawsuits and investigations into cronyism have painted a grim picture of our school district, branding it as one of the most corrupt in the nation.

As the SUSD African American Black Parent Advisory Committee Chairman, I have held SUSD Departments under my jurisdiction accountable. As trustee, I will continue to demand greater transparency and audits, ensuring that fiscal misuse offenders and malfeasance are criminally prosecuted. It's a travesty that SUSD funds, your hard-earned tax dollars, are being misused. I will never forget this and will work tirelessly to ensure they are used responsibly.

Inspire Parental Engagement
Parents are not just stakeholders in the education system; they are its backbone. They play a pivotal role in shaping their children's educational experiences and outcomes. We should not just encourage but empower parents to be involved and ask for input on their kids' education. As a parent, I am thankful for the opportunity my daughter's school and teachers have given me to be a part of her education. We must foster this same culture throughout SUSD, including trustees and administrators.

Ensure students are culturally affirmed
As a young student, I was inspired by teachers who understood my background and life perspective because theirs was like mine. Stockton is the most ethnically diverse community in the nation. Educators must be sensitive that every student's life experience may not be their own.

To ensure students are not just acknowledged but celebrated for their cultural diversity, SUSD should implement district-wide goals that reflect and respect all students' nationalities, histories, and experiences. This includes incorporating ethnically diverse viewpoints in curriculum development and effectively training teachers, counselors, and staff on culturally responsive instruction that establishes supportive and inclusive learning environments.

Create new and better educational opportunities
We need to meet students where they are. While many students are not on the college track, they may be on the career track. Expanding our Career Technical Education (CTE) Programs will give students who have a passion the opportunity to have an educational experience that caters to their interests and post-secondary education goals. New and more educational opportunities will inspire students while increasing their academic success.
